What it doesn't do
NomadStamp is a record-keeper, not an advisor. It keeps what you and your workshops wrote down and shows it back exactly as entered. It never tells you whether something is due, safe or legal, and it never works out a date from a reading. Where you want warning, you set a reminder against a date you chose.
If you are after an app that decides when your van needs work, this isn't it, and that's deliberate.

Your records stay yours
Your logbook stays on your device and in your own iCloud. There is no account, no sign-in and no analytics. NomadStamp has no server holding your records and no way to read them.
One thing leaves, and only when you ask for it. Tap “Fill in from DVSA” and your registration goes to a lookup service run by NomadStamp's developer, which asks the government for that vehicle's MOT history. It keeps no logs and no database: it passes the question on and hands the answer back. Nothing else about you or your van goes with it, and nothing is sent at all if you never use the button.
Why isn't it free?
Because there's no advertising in it and nothing in it is trying to sell you something later. You pay once, it works offline forever, and there is no account, no subscription and nothing collecting your data to make money another way.
A free app has to make its money somewhere, and for this kind of app that is normally ads, a subscription, or your data. This one is £9.99 and then it's yours. That is the whole business model.
